Bondi Beach has about one kilometer long and receives many visitors throughout the year. Surf Life Saving Australia provides a different assessment of the dangers of Bondi Beach in 2004. While the northern end valued 4 (the 10 most dangerous), the southern tip rated 7 because the current split is known as the "Backpackers 'Express' and close to bus stops, and the unwillingness of tourists walking along the beach to swim. The southern end of the beach is reserved for surfing. Yellow and red flags define safe swimming area, and visitors are advised to swim between the flags.

There is an underwater shark net shared during the summer with the other beaches on the southern edge of the sea. Stomachs of whales and dolphins seen in the bay during the months of migration. Little penguins, which are not common, sometimes seen swimming close to shore.

In 2007, Guinness World Record for the largest swimsuit photo printed on Bondi Beach, with 1010 women participated in a bikini.

Bondi Beach included in the Australian National Heritage List in 2008.

Bondi Beach has a commercial area along Campbell Parade and the nearest curb. Bondi Beach has many cafes, restaurants and renowned hotel, with stunning views overlooking the beach. Hotel Bondi is a famous landmark located across from the beach and has a number of bars and restaurants tereknal. Swiss Grand Hotel Bondi Beach is also a landmark building on the opposite shore.

Bondi Pavilion is a community cultural center, located in Bondi Beach, which has a theater, gallery, training room, meeting and ballroom, art workshops, studios, and others. Bondi Pavilion is a center for major festivals performances throughout the year.

A number of festivals and events such as stage beauty has made the annual Miss Bondi Bondi Beach a popular destination among the visitors. This beach has long attracted the attention of poets including Joanne Burns, Les Murray and Brook Emery. A skateboard competition called Bowl-a-Rama held in February each year.
